Eli Lederhendler

Prof. Eli Lederhendler

Academic Director

Prof. Eli Lederhendler is a past chairman of the Academic Advisory Committee (2003-2006) and now serves as the director of the Nevzlin Center. He is the chair of the Hebrew University’s Department of Jewish History & Contemporary Jewry, where he holds a full professorship. Among his scholarly works are articles and monographs dealing with 19th and 20th century Jewish life in Russia and America, with a particular emphasis on Jewish migration history

Dr. Goldin is responsible for the programmatic development and administrative aspects of the Nevzlin Center. Semion Goldin received his PhD cum laude from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. His dissertation published as monograph, focuses on Russian army policy towards Jews from 1914 to 1917.

He has published several articles on various topics of East European Jewish history in the twentieth century.
