Inf.1: You know, I still recall this darkness…

Inf.2: Gives me goosepimples…

Inf.1: I hadn’t seen such darkness for a long time…

Inf.2: It was so very scary! No light, no nothing…

Inf.1: The scariest thing was that this darkness – and explosions, which are associated only with death. You know, it’s so dark you can’t see anything… and these sounds of death.

Inf.2: And the planes! Here [in Israel], when they had some kind of training, I heard a low-flying plane and I hid under the table, so much I was afraid (laughs). And hid the dog under the table, too… I was not so much scared there [in Ukraine], but here [in Israel] when I heard these sounds, I thought: oh, the bombing is going to start! Just the same sound! I was never afraid of the planes in my life, but then… vroommm – and the bombs start falling…

Inf.3: When we were already living with our neighbors on the second floor, one night we were sleeping on the floor, and all of a sudden – well, there is a military unit close to our house, about 7 minutes away, so when we first heard these bombs, at around 3 am, and saw this fire glow…

Inf.2: It felt like we are being bombed.

Inf.1: Yes, the bombs were so heavy… just imagine, the Drama Theater which was destroyed, that’s about 20 minutes away from us on foot… (UJRI_093_ASh_LS_D)
